Hockey

This flow chart has been created to help families navigate their way through the expectations and process when a player is showing symptoms or has been tested for COVID-19. This chart will be updated, as required, based on changes to Alberta Health Services protocols.

Hockey registration is open for all age groups and ice has been booked in Hinton starting Saturday, September 19! Specific times for teams can be found on the Schedule page.

  • Your child must be registered and paid in order to skate.
  • Please arrive at the arena dressed to play and leave dressed
  • More times have been booked for every weekend until our own arena opens
Early bird rates will stay in place until the ice is in place in Jasper. Fingers are crossed for the beginning of November.
This hockey season is going to look a little different this year because of Covid-19. The NAI is working with Hockey Alberta to try and make a league possible. If this does not work out, a back-up plan for a mini league for the Edson, Hinton, Whitecourt, Fox Creek, Pembina, and Mayerthorpe teams is in the works. The hope is that games would be played every second weekend.  Teams will have a max of 12 players and will play 4 on 4 games.
  • Bantam and Midget will be non-body contact this season.
  • Initiation will only practice once per week in Hinton from 9:30-10:45 Saturdays until our arena is ready; no league games are being planned at this time.

Thank you for everyone’s understanding as we get through the beginning of the season and adjust to our new normal. We can’t wait to see everyone on the ice🏒

The JMS website is now open for full registration.  Please register your child for the 2020/21 season.
